The next-generation version of the Nissan Micra has been spotted testing in Europe for the first time. The hatchback is based on the new CMFA platform and is expected to be launched in the global markets later this year.

The test mule clearly shows the V-shaped Nissan grille and by the looks of it, the hatchback has the styling cues of the Sway concept, which was showcased earlier. The new Micra will replace the current model that uses the 13-year-old V platform.

The Micra hatchback is currently built at the Renault-Nissan facility in Chennai and exported to all the global markets. It would change with this next-gen car; Nissan plans to produce it at the Renault facility in France alongside the Clio and Zeo, at least for the European market.

We expect the Micra to be debut at the Paris Motor Show later this year. The new Micra won’t be launched in India any time soon. Nissan will continue to offer the same model here for a while and will only look at introducing the new version towards the end of next year.
