The diesel models of the new Nissan Micra range from Rs. 6 lakh to Rs. 7.14 lakh. Notably, the Japanese auto maker has sold over 43,000 units of Micra since its launch in July 2010. In the new model, some changes have been made by the Nissan at exteriors, with a reduced overall length of 3825 mm. With its new launch, the company is relying on its efficiency and value for money to trump the market conditions and achieve success by generating a good response from buyers. Also, the Japanese auto maker launched the new Active model, which happens to be a low-priced version of Micra. Nissan has introduced the Active version in competition with the B+ segment models like Maruti Suzuki Swift and Honda Brio, along with Chevrolet Beat, Ford Figo and Maruti Suzuki WagonR.

“New Nissan Micra is the right product at the right time that will offer the customers ideal urban mobility with a complete package of premium design, performance, features, safety and comfort. We expect New Micra, as well as Micra Active with its excellent value proposition and its unique features, to serve wider range of customers in India,” said Kenichiro Yomura, Nissan Motor India's President and Chief Executive Officer.

“We will reach out to different segments, where we have no presence so far and we will launch products in the more competitive entry level segment too. We already launched the Sunny CVT, today we are launching the new Micra and Micra Active and later in the year you will see Nissan Terrano and New Datsun hatchback,” Yomura added.

Coming to the Micra Active, the weight of this vehicle is lighter by 30 kg as compared to that of the Micra's base variant. The overall weight reduction and performance tuning are claimed to be the reasons for better fuel efficiency at 19.49 kmpl. As a result of the design and feature optimisation, the company has been able to decide a competitive price for the Nissan Micra Active.
