After unveiling it at the New York Motor Show earlier this year, Nissan has unleashed the 2017 GT-R on to the European roads. The popular four-seater Japanese sports car has been launched in three trim levels – Pure, Recaro and Prestige with prices ranging between £79,995 (Rs 78.63 lakh) and £81,995 (Rs 80.57 lakh). A Track Edition by NISMO is also on offer.

Launched as the 2017 GT-R, this new model features a different look and performance upgrades. In all, these upgrades combine to represent the most significant changes the GT-R has received since its arrival in 2007.

The exterior may have been subtly upgraded but there is no denying that the interior is noticeably different and looks more luxurious than before. The dashboard and instrument panel are new and so is the centre layout.

The 3.8-litre, twin-turbocharged V6 engine has been worked on so that it now develops 570bhp of power and 637Nm of torque. The improved output is the result of revised ignition-timing and extra boost from the turbochargers.

The 2017 GT-R will arrive in India later this year during the festive season. It will compete with well-established marquees like the Audi R8 and the Lamborghini Huracan.
