The latest Mini Convertible, which is set to be launched in early 2016, was spotted testing recently, according to a latest report by Autocar. It is being said that this soft-top vehicle will be the last in this much popular series, which has performed exceptionally well over the years. The other models that form this series include three-door hatchback, new Clubman and a five-door hatch.

There has been no difference in the mechanical configuration part of the MINI Convertible as it will be sharing the same UKL1 platform that is used in other cars of this series. There is a soft-top roof that folds forward and the Mini Convertible also has a four-seat cabin borrowed from the existing model. In order to make the car more appealing, the auto maker is likely to enhance its interiors.

Due the light camouflage that was used in the testing model, a lot of styling alterations have been hidden. However, one thing that is a surety is the changes that will be made to the front and rear portions of the vehicle in order to make it better looking. As far as engine variants are concerned, 1.5-litre petrol and 2.0-litre petrol options along with a 1.5-litre diesel version will be offered in the new Mini Convertible.
