      New Mercedes CLS 250 CDI and E-Class Cabriolet launch date is March 25

      Mercedes-Benz, the German luxury carmaker, has announced that it will launch the new CLS 250 CDI and the E-Class Cabriolet in the Indian car market onMarch 25.

      It is expected that the E-Class Cabriolet will be offered in the E 400 trim, which is globally powered by a 2,996cc V6 petrol engine. The E 400 Cabriolet is a convertible, which is based on the new E-Class sedan. The E 400 Cabriolet will be offered as a four-seater. Under the bonnet is a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged engine that churns out a maximum power output of 328bhp and a peak torque of 480Nm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via the same 7G tronic transmission. The car accelerates to 100kmph from zero in mere 5.3 seconds and hits an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph.

      Based on the new E-Class sedan, the 2015 CLS-Class gets a unique overall design with a sloping roofline to give it a coupe-like styling. The front grille of the car resembles the CLA, while the new bumper has new fog lamps housing and body skirts. The most noticeable addition to the new CLS is the new Multi-beam LED headlamps that feature 24 individually controlled LEDs.

      The Mercedes CLS 250 CDI is powered by a 2,143cc turbocharged 4-cylinder diesel engine that is capable of producing 204bhp and 500Nm of torque. This engine is paired to a 7G Tronic automatic gearbox which sends the power to rear wheels.
