      New Mercedes Benz ML seen doing trial runs in Pune

      New Mercedes Benz ML Class has been spotted doing trial runs in Pune. In the 2012 New Delhi Auto Expo, the Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) was unveiled and since then auto aficionados are quite anxious about its launch. As per reports, the car will be introduced in India by April 2012.

      The car is reported to be loaded with a 3.0L V6 diesel engine that is capable of generating output of 258 bhp and torque of 620 Nm. 7-speed automatic gearbox is mated with the engine for easy gear shift. The company has provided 4-matic four wheel drive mechanism for maximum convenience.

      Initially only single fuel choice will be available and regarding the petrol variants, the company has not provided any details yet. Top speed of this car is estimated to be around 224 kmph. In mere 7.4 seconds, the car can reach from 0 to100 kmph. The new car has aggressive look, which is provided by large grille and bigger Mercedes badge. Curvy swept back headlamps further enhances the look of the SUV. Even the rear section is quite impressive and carries a sporty look.

      Apart from the premium leatherette interiors, the all new Mercedes Benz ML Class also has Active Park Assist (APA) with integrated Park-tronic technology, Rear-view camera, and Attention assist. For the safety and security purpose, the car maker has left no stone unturned. As per reports, the SUV will have Electronic Traction System (ETS), 9-SRS air-bags, ABS with EBD and ESP.

      After its launch the car will be imported from Germany although the company has plans to assemble it by Diwali. In order to give tough competition to Audi Q5 and BMW X5 in India, the company is expected to price the new Mercedes Benz ML Class within Rs. 45 lacs to Rs. 50 lacs.
