      Maruti Suzuki Ciaz

The country’s largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki teased the upcoming Ciaz facelift ahead of its official debut during the festive season this year. The Ciaz being a popular name in the C-segment is all geared up to regenerate interest with a fresh set of mechanical, as well as cosmetic and feature upgrades. Read below to learn more about top five highlights in the new Ciaz –

      Refreshed exterior

The new Maruti Suzuki Ciaz will sport redesigned projector headlamps and LED DRLs that compliment the chrome-studded grille. The revised front bumper features larger air intake and updated fog lamps. The rear section gets new LED tail lamps and tweaked reflectors on the revised bumper. As for the sides, it will look more or less the same as the existing generation model except for a set of new alloy wheels.

      New interior

Step inside and it gets a similar beige interior as the current model. However, for freshness it now comes with a lighter shade of faux wood inserts on the dashboard as well as the doors. Moreover, the new model will feature an updated steering wheel with cruise control button. Although more interior details are not known for now, we also expect to see the vehicle receive additional visual upgrades.

      New petrol engine

Under the hood, the new Ciaz will feature a 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine that will generate around 104bhp of power and 138Nm of torque. The new petrol debuted with the recently introduced Indonesian spec Ertiga and will come as replacement to the existing 1.4-litre variant. The diesel version will continue to be powered with the current 1.3-litre engine that generates 89bhp of power and 200Nm of torque.

      Hybrid option

For the first time, Maruti Suzuki might also offer a mild hybrid system in the petrol version to offer optimised fuel efficiency. The diesel version will continue to benefit from the SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle from Suzuki) mild hybrid system.

      Updated infotainment system

The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz facelift will get an updated SmartPlay infotainment sytem featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Additionally, the vehicle will also be offered with the Suzuki Connect Telematics system.

Post launch, the new Ciaz will compete against the likes of the Honda City and the Hyundai Verna. As for pricing we speculate it to cost a little higher than the current generation model.
