Maruti Suzuki India Limited is ready to introduce the new K-series engine model of Maruti Alto next month. The new model will be powered by 1L petrol engine that adheres to the new BS IV norms, delivers better performance and more fuel efficiency. The car will also undergo changes in its exteriors and interiors as well. The new Maruti Alto will be 125mm longer than its predecessor making it more spacious from inside as compared to existing models like Zen Estilo, old Wagon R and A-Star. Tail lamps in the model have been re-designed, as well as a hatch-mounted number plate with a black strip on top and wider tyres.
The new Maruti Alto K10 will be priced between existing Alto LXi and Zen Estilo LX. Only the top end models of the variants will be available. The model is expected to be priced between Rs. 2.8 lakh – Rs. 3.4 lakh. The new K10 Maruti Alto will deliver power of 66 bhp and 90Nm of torque and has ARAI certification of delivering mileage of 20 kmpl.
Maruti intends to sell 2 lakh units of Alto annually and up to 1.5 lakh units of K-10 series model combining the tally up to 40 percent.
