Maruti Suzuki has just launched the Swift facelift in the Indian car market. The company is now gearing up to launch the new Alto K10 with several upgrades to both styling and mechanics. The new Alto K10 will hit the Indian shores next week. Bookings for the car have already started at a token amount of Rs. 10,000, while deliveries are being promised from 1-2 week of November.

The new Maruti Alto K10 shares its styling cues with the Alto 800; however, the vehicle gets new front fascia with new headlamps, bumper and air dam. The vehicle would be offered in six variants and in two fuel options. There will be two transmission options on offer.

The new K10 is propelled by the same 1.0-litre 3-cylinder K-Series motor that also powers the current generation K10 and Wagon R. This engine is capable of producing a top power output of 67.04bhp and 90Nm of peak torque. The company has tweaked the engine to offer better fuel efficiency, rated at 24.07kmpl. The vehicle would also be offered with CNG fuel option, which is claimed to return 32.26 km/kg of fuel efficiency.

A five-speed manual transmission driving the power to front wheels would come as standard, while the automated manual transmission (AMT) would also be on offer as an optional. It will also be the country’s most affordable automatic car on sale in the country; however, Tata Motors is also planning to launch Nano AMT soon in India.
