The Quanto compact SUV from Mahindra did not generate expected amount of interest among carbuyers in India. In order to heat-up the lukewarm response, the company has been working on a face-lift that could be launched sometime early next year. In the past, on numerous instances the upcoming trim has been spotted undergoing road test in the country.
Under the hood, the new Mahindra Quanto would be powered by mHawk100 1.5-litre engine that would generate about 100Bhp of power. Apart from the regular Five Speed manual transmission option, the vehicle could also be offered with an AMT and be known as Quanto AutoShift. On the design aspect the vehicle gets a re-designed bonnet with air-scoop that would compliment the new aggressive front grill. The bumpers have also been tweaked to accommodate new round foglamps. The vehicle would sport LED headlamps and it is also likely that the rear lamps may also get LEDs.
The new Mahindra Quanto is expected to be positioned above the recently launched TUV300. The upcoming vehicle would be loaded with interesting set of entertainment, comfort and safety features that would place it ahead than the rest in its segment. Mahindra aims to tap the urban market with the new feature loaded Quanto. The vehicle could be offered for around 9-11 Lakh(Ex-showroom). Apart from the new Quanto, the company has also been working on KUV100 that the company refers as Micro-SUV in India and would be positioned under the TUV300.
