      New Jaguar XE gets 'InControl' infotainment system

      Readying to be unveiled globally at 2014 Paris Motor Show in October this year, more details have been revealed about the new Jaguar XE. The all new XE has become the first ever model from the stables of British car marquee Jaguar Land Rover to get the all new infotainment system. Christened, ‘InControl’, an eight inch touchscreen interface serves as the groundwork for the new infotainment system.InControl enables complete smartphone integration for Android and iOS units. Among its various functions is its ability to act as a Wifi hotspot for a number of devices. The newly designed infotainment system gets several specially designed new apps also. Besides these, yet another new feature equipped inside the cabin is InControl Remote. The InControl Remote performs various functions like it enables the users to connect to the car remotely and pre-set heating/cooling system, unlock the car, start the engine and locate the vehicle in car parking.

      The InControl system can also work as a tracking device, it can display the location of the vehicle which is useful in case the vehicle is stolen. Another exquisite feature that will be packed in new XE is the laser projection for the head-up display. The first of its kind feature displays speed and navigation information.

      Jaguar has picked an engine from its new Ingenium family of engines that will be powering the new XE. The upgraded version of XE will be made available in three trim levels- XE, XE S and XER-S. It is likely that the saloon will be launched in India too, however India launch will happen once the vehicle is launched in other preeminent markets.
