The demand for SUVs in India has witnessed a strong growth. The Tucson SUV from Hyundai that has been quite popular in the international market is finally expected to debut in India. As stated by sources, the company has been planning on introducing the new model to the Indian market. The third generation model showcased at Geneva Motor Show 2015 could likely make it to the Indian markets too sometime sooner.
The new Hyundai Tucson is powered by 1.7-litre diesel engine that generates about 114bhp while the 2.0-litre diesel engine churns out a powerful 182bhp. In India, it could however be offered with a toned down specification. The vehicle could be offered with six-speed automatic transmission. The SUV showcasing company future, features new aggressive hexagonal grille up front and elongated headlamps that stretch right to the fenders. The new fog lamp enclosures also offer it a new bolder stance.
Inside, it is difficult to miss on ample space provided in its segment. The vehicle gets eight-inch touchscreen and smart rich interior upholstery. For safety and convenience it comes with drive mode selector, automatic parking, Lane Keeping Assist, blind spot assist system, Autonomous Emergency Braking, and most interestingly smart powered tailgate that opens as soon as you wave your foot under it.
