      New Honda City to take on rivals soon

      Just a week after slashing the price of its popular mid-size sedan Honda City by Rs 66,000, the Japanese auto giant Honda now plans to revamp this sedan.

      The company is looking forward to launch an upgraded version of the car which will come blessed with a series of top notch comfort convenience and multimedia features that comprises of the likes of sunroof, Bluetooth and iPod connectivity, and a new color combination. Moreover the new Honda City will also be having a new set of front and rear bumper, new metal alloys and improved aerodynamics. However, it will be carrying the same 1.5-litre iVTEC engine.

      In a statement given to ET, a company source said, "The car would carry new colors and design cues like new tail lamps that could get an LED treatment and internal changes in form of some modifications with instrumental panel, new interior trim and a new CD player system."

      With the launch of a number of new competitors such as Volkswagen Vento and Toyota Etios, the sales of Honda City have decreased 43% to 3,370 cars in April-May. So far, the Honda City is the largest sold Honda model in the Indian market.
