      New Honda City coming to Australia in April 2014

      Japanese car-maker Honda has seems to be on a roll with the grand success of the City sedan on the global platform. Post huge success with the diesel version of City sedan in the Indian market and a recent launch of the City sedan in the Malaysian market, the car-maker is now geared up to cater to the Australian market. The fourth generation of the City sedan for Australia shall be offered in two variants namely VTi and VTi-L.

      The upcoming City sedan from Honda shall be powered by 1.5 liter, four cylinder petrol engine that generates about 88 kW of power with 145 Nm of torque output. The car gets a bigger boot space of 536 Litres as compared to 506 Liters in the previous version. The upcoming car features Honda's 'Earth Dreams' technology that is known to deliver better fuel efficiency figures. Mr. Stephen Collins, Honda Australia Director, said, “The Honda City, available in 55 countries, has sold over 2.2 million units since its introduction. The Honda City is a cut above its competition and with new styling, loads of standard features such as Display Audio and reversing camera, it represents excellent value for money.”

      The new Honda City sedan shall feature a reversing camera and a Display Audio function. The new devices shall be compatible with the iPhone 5 and other devices, moreover, the Display Audio function is capable of satellite navigation and stream audio with the help of Bluetooth connectivity option. The Siri Eyes Free application lets the users operate the system using just a voice command. The new sedan measures 4440mm in length and 1695mm in width. Cabin space has never been a problem with the City sedan, the car has ample head room and legroom for its occupants.

      Pricing and detailed specification for the Australian version of Honda City is not known for now. A detailed report shall be revealed post an official launch by the Japanese car-maker. The recently launched City sedan in the Malaysian market is available in four trims S, S+, E and V. All the trims for Malaysia come with a petrol engine and are offered in automatic transmission only. The fourth generation of the City sedan for Malaysia has been priced at RM 75,800 for the base S trim (Rs 14.05 lakh), S+ trim is available for sale at RM 78,800 (Rs 14.61 lakh), E variant is tagged at RM 83,800 (Rs 15.54 lakh) and the top-of-the-line version of new City sedan, V is being proffered at RM 90,800 (Rs 16.84 lakh).
