Hero MotoCorp is looking at the global picture now, and the all-new Glamour is its first-ever global product, claims the company. It will, however, be manufactured in India and will be sold here as well. The new Glamour will replace the existing Glamour in India.

Hero unveils new Glamour in Argentina

The new Glamour is Hero's first product for Argentina, and will mark its foray into the Argentinian market, where it will compete with Bajaj and Chinese products. It sports a completely new engine that is visually different from the current one. Hero says it has its Torque On Demand technology, and will be available in both carburetted and fuel injected versions. The 125cc engine now generates 11.4bhp @ 7500rpm, 11Nm@6500 rpm, which is a 27 per cent jump in power and 6 per cent increase in torque. The fuel efficiency is up by 3 and 7 per cent for the carb and FI versions respectively. The 0-60kph times have dropped as well, the carb getting there in a shade over 6 seconds, and the Glamour FI in 5.64 seconds. Both will receive Hero’s i3S start/stop technology.

The styling of the Glamour has now changed to appeal to a markedly younger target audience. The instrumentation is now part-digital, and along with the standard readouts, shows fuel efficiency, which is a first for the segment. It also gets the Auto Headlamp On feature and tubeless tyres as standard, although one can choose from a disc or drum for the front brake.

It will be launched in India soon and should cost Rs 56,000-58,000. The Honda Shine and Bajaj Discover have been warned.
