      New generation Hyundai Verna with 7-speed DCT launched in South Korea

      Hyundai Verna has been a popular choice in the India sedan segment. This time around the vehicle known as Accent in South Korean market has been launched with fresh upgrades along with the newly developed double-clutch transmission (DCT).

      The new Hyundai Accent DCT draws its power from 1.6 litre diesel engine that comes equipped with VGT (Variable Geometry Turbocharger). The decently powered engine generates about 136 PS of power with a peak torque output of about 300 Nm. A similar configuration is offered in the Indian Hyundai Verna loaded with VGT technology and produces about 128 PS of max power with about 265 Nm of peak torque. The vehicle comes mated with an optional of 6-speed manual gearbox or the existing 4-speed automatic transmission.

      The South Korean trim gets interesting set of features like 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, engine start/stop push button and tyre pressure monitoring system. The company has not spoken about its plans to bring in the new version to the Indian market, but if at-all it is brought in the domestic market its shall be loaded with fresh upgrades right from the interiors to its exteriors.
