The country’s third largest luxury car maker Audi launched its new generation version of its popular luxury sedan Audi A6, on Wednesday. The new executive class sedan Audi A6 has been priced in the range of Rs 37.7 lakh to Rs 47 lakh (ex-showroom price). The new age Audi A6 not only delivers better fuel economy in comparison to the previous version, but also delivers a better performance.
While speaking to the reporters on the occasion, Mr. Michael Perschke (head, Audi India) said, "The launch of the new Audi A6 is in line with our top down strategy for India." He added that the new Audi A6 carries a combination of new technologies and fuel efficient engine.
While the petrol variant of new lighter Audi A6 takes just 8 seconds to break the speed barrier of 0-100 kmpl, the top diesel version of the car takes just 6.7 seconds to achieve the same.
The new Audi A6 carries a number of new age technological features that comprises of lightweight technology, adaptive air suspension, and LED headlamps.
The car has been launched in four engine options in varying price range including the 2.0 TDI at 37.70 lakh, the 2.8 FSI at 39.90 lakh, 3.0 TDI Quattro at Rs. 46.95 lakh and the 3.0 TFSI Quattro versions at Rs. 47.00 lakh(ex-showroom Delhi). The car will be competing with the likes of Jaguar’s XF, Mercedes Benz’s E-Class and BMW 5-Series.
Meanwhile, the company is planning to launch its luxury SUV Audi Q3 in the Indian market by mid 2012.
