On a few instances in the past, spy shots of the new generation Suzuki Swift had emerged indicating on few fresh upgrades. Though the latest image considerably reveals the front fascia, most of the vehicle is yet to be seen. The Japanese automaker will globally unveil the 2017 Swift in the home market on December 27, 2016.
The new Suzuki Swift appears to be similar in size as the current generation hatchback, however the new mode will be a little lighter in weight by 15 per cent. Moreover, the company claims that the rigidity has been improved by 10 per cent as compared to the earlier platform. The vehicle will get a smooth flowing exterior along with new headlamps. The vehicle also gets a large hexagonal grille with chrome surround for freshness and diamond cut styled alloy wheels.
Under the hood, the India-bound 2017 model will continue to be powered by existing 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.3-litre diesel engine. Based on the Baleno platform, the new Swift might also get a much talked about 1.0-litre BoosterJet turbo-petrol engine which will be offered in the upcoming Baleno RS which is likely to launch in first quarter of next year.
As for interior, the vehicle gets a new sporty instrument cluster and new sporty steering wheel. The top spec-version might get features like touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink compatibility. As for safety, depending on the variant, the vehicle will be offered with features such dual airbags, ABS, rear parking camera/sensors, all power windows and more. As for the pricing aspect, the vehicle might be priced around a similar range.
