      New-gen Jaguar XF to debut on March 24 in London

      Jaguar, the British luxury carmaker, has announced that it will unveil the all-new XF saloon in London on March 24, 2015. The vehicle is scheduled to make its public debut at the 2015 New York Motor Show on April 1. First launched in 2007, the XF saloon is the Jaguar's best selling car in its current line-up. The next-generation XF will be the second Jaguar model to feature the company's new advanced aluminium-intensive architecture.

      The company claims that the next-generation XF sedan will offer a class-leading fuel economy of over 70mpg (24.78kmpl). Ian Callum, Director of Design, Jaguar, said: “I believe the all-new XF will be the best looking car in its class. Elegant, handsome and with proportions that imbue a great sense of integrity – the all-new XF will be true to the strong tradition of sporting Jaguar saloons while being completely of its time.”

      The new XF will also be offered in a long wheelbase version for the Chinese market, and it will compete against the likes of BMW 5 Series LWB, Mercedes E Class LWB and the Audi A6 LWB. The luxurious saloon is expected to get new 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. The company might also introduce six-cylinder units. JLR's newly formulated Ingenium range of fuel efficient motors will be offered with the XF saloon as well. The performance version - the XR-R would get a 5.0-litre supercharged V8 motor.
