The new-generation Honda Civic’s interior has been revealed in the new spy images. The 2016 Civic that has been on test for quite sometime now, is expected to be unveiled by the end of 2015 in USA. For the US market, the new-gen Honda Civic will be available in three body styles – hatchback, sedan and coupe. Though, there is no clarity if Honda will re-launch the Civic in India or not. Just so you know, Honda India phased out the Civic in 2012.
As spyshots suggest, the new-gen Civic will ditch the existing split dashboard design and get a standard layout. Other interior updates include an electric parking brake, heated rear seats, HondaWatch Blindspot camera, leather upholstery, ECON driving mode, cruise control and an automatic transmission (probably a CVT). Honda claims that the material quality of the new model will be much improved. On the exterior, the sedan will get a new “Flying H” grille with optional LED headlamps, a new C-pillar design, revised lower fascia design and LED boomerang taillamps. The new-gen Civic will be longer than the current model.
Honda has confirmed that the next-gen Civic will be based on an all-new platform, and feature a detuned turbocharged engine with FWD (front-wheel drive) system. According to reports, the sedan might get a 1.5-litre VTEC Turbo engine that develops a maximum power of 150PS and a torque of 203Nm. For the European market, the sedan will also be offered with a 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel engine.
