A completely redesigned 2019 Acura RDX has been showcased at the ongoing North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Due for launch in mid-2018, the company claims that the new model is indeed the fastest and best handling RDX ever made. Moreover, the new model claims to be longer and wider than its predecessor.

The upcoming Acura RDX gets an all-new powertrain along with a lighter and stiffened body. The longer wheelbase offers more cabin space for occupants. Mechanically, the vehicle gets a 2.0-litre DOHC VTEC turbo engine mated to segment-first 10-speed automatic transmission which powers all four-wheels. As for the interior, the vehicle gets premium leather upholstery with wood and aluminum finishes. The company claims to offer the biggest moon roof in its class along with NSX-inspired drive mode selection knob which allows the driver to switch between Sport, Sport+, Comfort, and Snow. The vehicle also features a large 10.2-inch android-based infotainment system.

The RDX has been the most popular selling model for Acura with five consecutive years of record sales. Moreover, the vehicle has also witnessed seven straight years of year-over-year sales growth. The new model is further expected to boost its sales this year owing to its fresh appeal.
