Ford, the American automaker, is all set to launch the much-awaited new generation Endeavour SUV in the Thailand market. India launch of this SUV is likely to take place by the end of this year. Before that, Ford India will launch the new Figo sedan and new-gen Figo hatchback. The new-gen Endeavour is already on test in several international market, and has been recently spotted in a range of colours in Thailand.
Ford Thailand has also updated its official website with a 'Coming Soon' picture for the new Endeavour SUV. The website has also revealed the engine specifications of the SUV. The range-topping diesel model will get a 3.2-litre, five-cylinder TDCi engine that churns out a maximum power output of 200bhp and a peak torque of 470Nm. Whereas, the entry-level diesel variant will get the 2.2-litre four-cylinder unit. There will also be a petrol model, powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged EcoBoost petrol.
The new-generation Ford Endeavour SUV is 4882mm long, 1862mm wide and 1836mm high, and has a large wheelbase of 2850mm. The SUV has a large 225mm of ground clearance, which is more than sufficient to tackle rugged road conditions. Moreover, the SUV has a water wading depth of 800mm which is just 50mm less than the Range Rover. The SUV will come to India via CKD (Completely Knocked Down) from Thailand and will be assembled at the company's manufacturing unit in Chennai.
