Force, the Indian manufacturer sprang to fame with its Gurkha SUV offering in the country. Though lesser known in many states, the SUV has been quite popular especially in the northern states of India. The carmaker had launched the newer version of Gurkha sometime last year, but it was not put on sale for some unknown reasons. This time around, Force dealers based in Chennai and New Delhi are reportedly accepting bookings for the last year year showcased new Gurkha SUV. The dealers are also reportedly offering the vehicle for test drives to interested customers.
The last year showcased new version of Force Gurkha reportedly carries the same BS3 compliant OM616, 2.6 litre engine that is capable of generating about 82 PS of top power with about 230 Nm of peak torque output. As for the interiors, the newer version is likely to sport smaller steering wheel, redesigned dashboard and improved AC vents and controls. The gear knob has also got a refreshing appeal along with the newly designed tachometer panel. Deliveries for the new Force Gurkha is likely to begin in the coming weeks.
