Fiat India is finally ready to introduce its T-Jet model of Fiat Linea in the Indian market next month. The company had initially planned to launch the model in August but had deferred its plans due to reasons unknown. The car is now finally set to be introduced in the Indian car market in October 2010. “The T-Jet will be launched in the middle of October and is expected to come in phased manner,” said official Fiat spokesperson. However, he declined to point out any exact time frame or the date of launch.
T-Jet Linea is the first Fiat in Indian automobile market that comes with a turbocharged version of the naturally aspirated 1.4L petrol engine. The car reaches 0-100 kmph in just 9.2 seconds and offers 120PS @5000rpm and torque of 200Nm @2500rpm. The T-Jet has a top speed of around 200 kmh and comes with 5-speed manual transmission.
Fiat is preparing itself for the festive season. It has not launched any new variants or models this year and is expected to come up with new finance schemes to lure customers apart from launching the new T-Jet Linea.
