Month of July has a slew of launches coming up including upgraded models like Fiat's Punto, Maruti SX4 and new models like Nissan Micra. Fiat had launched its small car model Fiat Grande Punto in the Indian market last year but sagging sales have forced the company to bring a new gruntier model this month. Fiat will introduce its 90 bhp Fiat Grande Punto Diesel model this July which might be dubbed as Grande Punto Sports. The reason for the rise in power is due to the addition of a VGT to the 1.3-liter common-rail diesel engine. Fiat has termed the mode as “the most powerful diesel hatchback in India.”
The new diesel Punto will sport features like electric sunroof, sporty upholstery, a rear spoiler, sport red decals, blacked-out headlamps, bigger tyres and dual colour interior leather seats. According to the industry experts, the new Grande Punto Diesel will be a strong competition to the new Hyundai i20.
The new Fiat Grande Punto model is expected to be priced higher than its existing top-end models like Emotion and Emotion Pack.
