The Indian unit of Czech Republic based car maker Skoda Auto is gearing-up to launch a new face-lifted version of its popular sedan Laura, in August 2011.
The new face-lifted Laura is expected to carry a number of cosmetic changes on both interior and exterior fronts. However, the company is yet to reveal the details of this prospective Laura. The car is also speculated to carry a new engine option, which, if proves true, will certainly boost the sales figures of the car in the Indian market. The new engine could be a 1.2L or a 1.4L TSI engine.
The Skoda Laura was rolled-out in the Indian market about two years back in year 2009, and since then it has been receiving a good response from the Indian buyers. With Laura’s arch rivals like Toyota Corolla Altis and Chevrolet Cruze already having been launched in new versions, the new face-lifted Laura will enable the car to compete more promptly in the market.
The new Laura will be the first car among five upcoming car models which the company has planned to launch in the country over the period of next two years.
