Autocar reports spying the new Euro Ford Fiesta testing on Indian roads near Chennai. The spy shots reveal a black Ford Fiesta test mule which was heavily camouflaged. The new saloon which is code named as B299 is bigger than the existing model.
According to reports, the new upcoming Ford Fiesta will be more powerfulm powered by a 1.6-litre petrol motor producing 118bhp. The diesel gets 90bhp of max power from its 1.6-litre motor, up from the current 1.4’s 68bhp and it will have a very useful 20.7kgm of torque, giving it a very petrol-like feel. The model may also have a dual clutch automatic gearbox.
The new Ford Fiesta comes with sharper looks and sleeker design to compete strongly even in the European markets. The model is expected to be launched in India by Jan-Feb 2011 and will be priced between Rs. 6.8- 7.7 lakh.
