This new powerhouse, with six-speed manual transmission, is capable of propelling this machine from 0-100 kmph in 7.9 seconds. Initially, it was planned that the new Z4 will be shown at the Detroit Motor Show, but the company decided to reveal the vehicle earlier. It is expected to be launched in 2013. The other models in the Z4 range remain unchanged. Currently India gets the sDrive35i, which is a 3.0 litre turbocharged unit producing a maximum output of 302 bhp. This vehicle is priced at Rs. 70 lakhs (ex showroom, Mumbai).

An all new Design Pure Traction styling pack has been added to the vehicle, which gives an opportunity to add black and orange contrasting colours to the interiors. The Internet connected Professional Navigation system is offered as an option for the Z4 sDrive18i. A new gloss black trim for the air conditioning vent and iDrive is offered as standard on the vehicle. In addition, the M-sport package, with bespoke suspension settings, alloy wheels and exterior and interior trims, is also offered with this vehicle.

It is expected that the new Z4 sDrive18i will land on Indian shores in the later part of 2013 and would offer greater competition to the likes of Nissan 370Z and the Audi TT.
