BMW is all ready to introduce the new-generation of the X1 next year, as a part of its next year’s plan. The new-generation X1 will be a front-wheel drive SUV instead of the rear wheel for the first time. Our sources confirm that the launch of the new-generation BMW has been slated around August 2016.
The new generation X1 will be powered by the 2.0-litre diesel engine that churns 150bhp and also a higher output of 190bhp as well. This engine will come mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and at the same time, the steering wheel shall be electronic(In BMW tongue it is called as Servotronic speed-sensitive assistance). The new chassis is lighter and has a weight distribution of 50:50, making it highly capable when it comes to driving dynamics. The xDrive all-wheel-drive version is also available on the X1, however we aren’t certain if this will be making its way into the Indian sub continent.
The BMW X1 has more cabin space not just for th passengers, but even the engine boot size has seen an increase of 85 litres, making the new boot size to 505 litres. The X1 comes fitted with iDrive that even has a 6.5-inch screen and mostly India will be getting the Harman Kardon music system with 12 speakers. The other features on the X1 will be Heads-Up Display, Active Cruise Control, rear view camera with parking assistant.
