Ford has officially revealed the much-awaited 2015 Endeavour. Set to go on sale in 2015, the next-generation Endeavour aka Everest will be launched in several markets including China, Australia, India, New Zealand, South Africa, etc.
First unveiled as Everest concept in Sydney in 2013, it was later showcased at the 2014 Bangkok Motor Show. The production model looks identical to the concept, except for the new design for the alloy wheels. The company has made changes to the suspension setup. It features a coil spring setup at the front, and a Watt’s linkage on the rear axle. It is designed and developed by Ford’s Asia Pacific design and product development teams. The 7-seater SUV will be offered in both rear wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions.
The company hasn’t revealed the exact dimensions of the SUV, but it comes with a large ground clearance of 225mm and offers a water-wading capability of 800mm. It offers an excellent boot space of 2,010 litres with second and third row seats folded. The next Endeavour’s new four-wheel drive system features an active transfer case with Torque on Demand and a Terrain Management system. Its Terrain Management System offers four settings including Normal, Snow/Gravel/Grass, Sand and Rock.
The interiors of the new Endeavour features SYNC2 multimedia system that comprises of new 8-inch touchscreen system with colour coded corners, voice command and automatic climate control. It will get a new 3.2-litre 5-cylinder diesel, 2.2-litre 4-cylinder diesel engines and a 2.0-litre twin-scroll EcoBoost petrol unit.
