      MPV model of Audi A3 likely to be showcased in 2014

      Audi, the well known German luxury car maker, seems all prepared to introduce a new model in its global line-up. Sources close to the development process stated that the 'Brand with Four Rings' is currently busy on the development of a new Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV), which is expected to be based on the designing platform of A3 Sportback. Industry experts are of a view that the launch of a new MPV by Audi will surely garner some strong attention from the auto enthusiasts all over the world.

      Initially, the car maker was planning to introduce a more powerful version of A4 on the global platform; however any update on this has not been provided yet. Instead, the auto maker has come up with a small sized five-seater MPV, which will be a trend setter in the utility vehicle segment. Reportedly, the upcoming MPV will be longer than the current Audi A3 Sportback and will carry the brand value of the auto maker. Interestingly, the model is scheduled for 2014 launch; however its production model will be ready by the end of 2015 for the emerging auto markets of the world.

      Sources further revealed that the model will feature cutting edge design and a number of advanced features, which is sure to strike right chords with the hearts of auto enthusiasts. It must be noted that the new model will be member of the Audi A3 family, which includes both five-door and three-door hatchbacks, along with A3 Saloon and Cabriolet. Considering the launch of Audi A3 MPV in the Indian auto market, industry experts are of a view that it will sparkle on the domestic roads by the end of 2015. Post launch, the model is expected to square off against the likes of Mercedes-Benz B-Class and BMW X1, among others.
