French automobile company, Peugeot, has recently made an announcement that the new Speedfight 4 scooter will be launched at the 2014 edition of Motorcycle Live Event in the United Kingdom. This will be the fourth variant of the two-stroke model and will be available in either an air-cooled version as well as a liquid cooled model.
The front fascia of this scooter is dominated by a twin setup of optical headlights, which have micro bulb indicators with a redesigned grille. The instrument cluster has been provided with an on-board digital equipment display together clubbed with a USB socket apt for cellphone connectivity.
Fans can opt for two variants, which come with an air-cooled 50 cc engine, capable of generating 3.8 bhp. The other model comes with the same engine, but a liquid cooled one, which produces 4.8 bhp. A host of colourful options are available on this model – blue, fluo green and red. The liquid-cooled model comes in icy-white, black and white colours.
A number of Peugeot scooters were seen at the Mahindra facility, which also featured the previous model of Speedfight 4. Mahindra holds a 51 per cent stake in Peugeot, so obviously the manufacture would sport some of its models in the country. This step will also benefit scooter fans across the country since a 50 cc model is highly in demand. Recently, this segment has made immense progress in the last few years. Also, a brand name like Peugeot will definitely boost the chances of its marketing in the country, which has an eye for smart scooters.
