      MotoGP-Moto3: Mahindra ties up with Aspar Racing

      In 2011, Mahindra entered the MotoGP racing championship with the name Mahindra racing. In 2014, the company completed three years in the Moto3 class of the championship with its 250-cc bike, the Mahindra MGP30. The company pulled up many fights during the season and had its ups and downs. Now, Mahindra Racing has tied up with Aspar team for the 2015 season of the Moto3 racing championship. Jorge Aspar Martinez, one of the most successful GP racers will be held responsible for the Aspar team and training the rider, as Mahindra will focus on developing the bike.

      Mufaddal Choonia, CEO Mahindra Racing, told the reporters that Mahindra will not be running the factory team this year and instead will focus on the development, design and supply of its bike MGP30 to the other racing teams in the Moto3 world championship. He also said that a part of the factory team will be played by Aspar team in the Moto3 racing. As per the reports, Mahindra will supply nine motorcycles to four teams, including Aspar team in Moto3.

      For supporting the Aspar team, Mahindra has recently opened a new technical base at Besozzo in northern Italy. The Aspar team will have three- riders in the upcoming 2015 season and both the teams are confident about achieving their goals. Anand Mahindra said that they are strengthening their technical skills by opening a center in Italy, and it will become a part of their network of innovations along with their facilities in India, US and Korea.

      Dorna Sports, owner of the MotoGP rights, said that there is a possibility of having the Superbike races in India in the near future. They also said India has a fantastic circuit in Delhi, but there have been some problems in logistics division. But the discussion is still on and especially for the superbikes and also for the MotoGP world championship. They also said that we had a handful of interest in MotoGP from India in the past few years since Mahindra Racing has joined the series in 2011.
