The country has been warm and welcoming for a fleet of cars from Italy in the past, this time around it’s the bikes from the international market that is making its way to local soil. Italian bikemaker Moto Morini has recently unveiled its plans of launching two powerful bikes at the upcoming Auto Expo event.
As per sources, Mumbai based custom bike maker and designer Vardenchi Motorcycles shall import and manage distribution of Moto Morini motorcycles in India. It is also said that Vardenchi shall unveil the new bikes namely – Gran Passo 1200 and Scrambler at Auto Expo event. The Gran Passo 1200 is expected to be powered by 1187cc v-twin oversquare engine, whereas the Scrambler has been tuned to perform like an all terrain crossover with a similar type of engine configuration. The Moto Morini Scrambler is blessed with Marzocchi upside down forks for front wheel, whereas the rear gets fully adjustable Paioli mono shock absorber. The Moto Morini Granpasso gets Ohlins mono-shock-absorber for the rear wheels, whereas the front gets Marzocchi upside down forks.
More details about the technical specifications for Moto Morini Scrambler and the Moto Morini Granpasso has not been revealed for now, detailed reports are expected post the event. As per sources, the Indian custom bike maker Vardenchi, has also undertaken the production responsibility of the Italian bike-maker to launch a range of premium motorcycles within the country. It is also worth noting that the motorcycles that are about to be launched at the Auto Expo marks as a beginning of joint venture.
On the exterior front the Moto Morini Scrambler and the Moto Morini Granpasso feature an aggressive stance. In terms of height, the Moto Morini Granpasso appears to be slightly taller than the Scrambler. The Moto Morini brand founded by Alfonso Morini, is quite popular in the Italian automotive circuit since its inception in 1937. It is said that the Moto Morini Scrambler and the Moto Morini Granpasso has been designed to suit Indian conditions. Things confirming the same can be anticipated post the unveiling at the 2014 Auto Expo event.
