      The market for sports bikes has been rising in India in the past few years, gradually moving from just being talked about to being bought. Manufacturers operating in the country are now getting the incentive to launch their own sports bikes and actually generate some profit out of it. Though there are a lot of sports bikes in the Indian market, some, such as Bajaj Pulsar 220F, Hero Karizma ZMR, Honda CBR, Yamaha R15 and Kawasaki Ninja, which are at the top, performing exceptionally well.

      Bajaj Pulsar 220F, by quite some distance, is the most popular sports bike in the country, mainly due to its manufacturer and the series it is a part of. The Pulsar series has impacted the bike market better than any other one in India. Powered by a 220 cc DTSi engine, this bike generates an output of around 20 bhp, which is quite impressive. Featuring sharp looks and split rear grab rails, Bajaj Pulsar DTSi is highly popular among the youth of the country and is ridden by a number of profession bikers.

      The second most popular sports bike in the country after Bajaj Pulsar 220F is definitely the Hero Karizma ZMR, which was launched only recently. A sports bike from one of the largest manufacturers in the country, Hero Karizma ZMR is being considered as a threat to the popularity of the Bajaj Pulsar 220F. Featuring modern day styling, great looks and technologically advanced specifications, this bike is powered by a 223 cc engine that develops an output of 20 bhp along with a torque of 19.7 Nm. This bike can reach a top speed of 129 kmph, which is pretty good.

      Japanese automobile manufacturer Honda has a definite presence in the market and one of its models, CBR 250R, is highly popular in India. This bike is powered by a 250 cc DOHC single cylinder engine that enables it to generate an output of 26 bhp and top torque of 22.9 Nm. Apart from these, there are a couple of other models in the market that are reasonable popular, such as Kawasaki Ninja and Yamaha YZF R15.
