      More details revealed on Maruti Swift facelift, launch imminent

      Expected to launch in new avatar around Diwali, more details have been revealed on the facelift variant of Maruti Suzuki India’s flagship hatchback Swift. Updated Swift is likely to sport cosmetic modifications, while engine options in the hatchback will remain unchanged, buzz has it that the hatchback could be rolled out in automatic variant.

      New details emerged on Swift facelift reveal that the vehicle will get a reworked bumper in the front featuring L-shaped silver insert lining surrounding the fog lamp housings. Other external tweaks include newly designed alloy wheels. Feature list includes keyless entry and engine start / stop button. Beside the above mentioned features, equipments such as day-time running lights, one-touch up / down window for the driver, updated infotainment system, reverse parking sensors and electrically retracting ORVMs are also expected to be offered in the new Swift.

      Petrol range of updated Swift will continue to be powered with the same 1.2 litre, four-cylinder petrol engine capable of engendering top power output of 86 Bhp at 6200 RPM along with peak torque of 4000 RPM. Diesel variants will be powered with the Fit sourced 1.3 litre, diesel powertrain that develops pinnacle power output of 74 Bhp at 4000 RPM and maximum torque of 2000 RPM. A five speed manual transmission will be matched to both the engines, and as mentioned above, an automatic gearbox could also be made available though there is yet no confirmation and details about the same.
