SUV lovers in India have been eagerly waiting for this one, the powerful version of Tata Safari Storme is likely to be up on sale soon. This time around sources have managed to capture shots of the specs sheet. The SUV gets the same 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine that shall generate a powerful 154bhp at 4,000rpm and 400Nm of torque at 1,750-2,500rpm as against the current one that generates 148bhp and 320Nm of torque. For now, the new model is only expected to be offered with G6450 6-speed manual transmission.
Being offered as a powerful version, the new Safari Storme can clock a 0-60km/h in just about 5.2 seconds and clock a 100 km/h from standstill in just about 12.8 seconds. In terms of features, the UV will get six speaker audio system that plays music through CD, USB, AM/FM, iPod and Bluetooth. The vehicle may also get telephone connectivity, speed dependent volume control, LCD screen, reverse parking display and remote control for rear passengers.
Additionally Tata Safari offers extended warranty of about 3 years/1,00,000 lakh kilometres on the Storme and customers can opt for extended warranty of 1 year/50,000 kms that can be purchased till 730 days of the vehicle being purchased. The company also offers engine warranty for three years/1,50,000kms.
