Japan based leading car maker Mitsubishi revealed the show model of 'MITSUBISHI Concept Global Small' on Wednesday. The model will be premiered at the 81st Geneva International Motor Show.
It is to be mentioned here that Mitsubishi’s global small car is slated to hit roads in March 2012. The car will be initially rolled-out from the company’s third assembly plant in Thailand. The new Mitsubishi small car is claimed to be offering a segment leading fuel economy along with a considerably low CO2 emission in the range of mid-90g/m. With this, the car will have enough space to carry five people inside.
The other details of this car that are known include a 1.0 – 1.2L engine equipped with regenerative braking system and a start/stop mechanism. Moreover, the company is believed to have used light weight parts and an aerodynamic exterior design in this car to achieve high fuel efficiency and low emissions.
Considering the car’s production in Thailand, its early launch in the Indian market cannot be ruled out. The small car segment has a high growth potential in India and by launching a new small car Mitsubishi would want to put its best foot forward to regain its lost market share in the Indian auto market.
