Mitsubishi Motors is gearing up to launch the much-awaited Pajero Sport AT variant on November 15, 2014. Ahead of its official launch, the company has teased the Pajero AT on its official webpage. Moreover, dealers have already started taking pre-orders for the SUV and are offering test drives to its prospective buyers.
With Pajero AT, the Japanese maker is aiming to increase its sales in the Indian car market. The company recently introduced the limited edition of the SUV, which is available in a dual-tone exterior paint-finish. It is offered in two exterior colour scheme- Flame Red with White and Lemon Yellow with White. The limited edition variant is tagged at Rs. 23.99 lakh, making it about Rs. 40,000 costlier than the standard 4x4 variant.
Under the hood, the Pajero AT will get the same 2.5-litre four-cylinder diesel unit that churns out a maximum power output of 178PS and 400Nm of peak torque. This 4x2 variant is paired to a five-speed manual transmission gearbox. Talking about changes, the AT variant will get Automatic and 4x2 badging. Other than these, the vehicle remains unchanged. The interiors of the SUV likely to remain unaltered and features the Automatic gearbox.
The Mitsubishi Pajero Sport Automatic will compete against the likes of Toyota Fortuner AT, Ssangyong Rexton RX7 AT and Ford Endeavour AT. It is likely to be cheaper than the current 4x4 manual variant. The vehicle is expected to be priced around Rs. 22-22.5 lakh.
