Its official, the new SUV from Mitsubishi will be called the Eclipse Cross and will make its debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. It will slot into their hierarchy between the ASX and the Outlander. The Eclipse moniker is revival of sorts as the Japanese automaker had a sporty two-door coupe that it sold from 1989-2011.
In this new avatar, it will be a crossover and plays into their plan of offering only SUVs as a part of their lineup. As we had said, it has many similar lines to that of the Mitsubishi XR-PHEV II Concept showcased back in 2015. The rear-view mirrors are positioned on the doors rather than the A-pillar to lend a sizeable appearance to the car. It also has a raked roofline, projector headlamps with LED DRLs with double slat grille. No powertrain details have been disclosed of this yet-to-be-named SUV. The car will be unveiled on March 7, day 1 of Geneva, and we bring you all the details as soon as they are out!
