      Mini launches Clubman in India

The Clubman is basically an estate or station wagon, and is based on the BMW UKL2 platform that is designed to liberate more interior space. The unmistakeable identity of the Clubman is lent by the rear barn doors which open up to showcase a boot that’s good for 360 litres and swells even further after the rear seats are folded.

The new model joins the Mini family in India that comprises of the Cooper, Cooper Convertible and Countryman. Powering the Clubman Cooper S is the 2.0-litre petrol engine that makes 192bhp and 280Nm of torque, and is coupled to an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

In terms of features, you get LED headlights, LED fog lights, multifunction leather wrapped steering wheel, sports seats, rain sensing wipers, different driving modes, 17-inch alloys and lots more.

The Clubman is now on sale in India in the Cooper S trim which is priced at Rs 37.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). We expect it to lock horns with the Volvo V40 and Mercedes-Benz’ B-Class.
