The John Cooper Works model of the all-new, yet-to-be released MINI Countryman has been revealed and it looks stunning. The new 2017 Countryman will go on sale from March and the JCW will follow it a month later to the dealerships in Europe.
John Cooper Works is the performance division at Mini, named after the legendary founder and performance enthusiast. The JCW Countryman gets the 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that develops 228bhp of power and 350Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic gearbox for European customers and gets the famous ALL4 all-wheel drive system. It gets a louder free-flow twin exhaust in the back signature to all JCW cars.
The new Countryman is Mini’s largest car yet and the JCW makes it a performance crossover SUV in the league of the Nissan Juke Nismo or the Mercedes GLA 45 AMG. While the GLA is way more powerful at more than 370bhp of power, the Countryman with its puny dimensions should be a better handler.
The new Countryman is expected to come to India by mid-2017 and the JCW countryman, with its racing stripes, might follow soon after i.e. by end of 2017.
