A leaked document shared on the web reveals that the MG ZS EV is likely to be offered with a smaller battery pack in the Indian market soon. The ZS EV was launched in India by the carmaker last year.

As per the leaked document, the MG ZS EV could be powered by a 40kWh battery pack. The model that is currently on sale is powered by a 44.5kWh battery. We expect the power and torque output of 141bhp and 353Nm to remain unchanged.

However, what is likely to change with the introduction of a smaller battery pack for the MG ZS EV could be the price. Prices for the current model start at 21 lakh (ex-showroom) and the new battery pack could result in a sub-20 lakh price tag for the model.

The MG ZS EV is currently offered in two variants including Excite and Exclusive. The company is also working on the petrol-powered version of the model, which is christened as the Astor. To know more about this ICE-powered model, click here.
