      MercedesTrophy 2009 Swinging Times ahead

      Scintillating ensemble simply ‘Exquisit’ from Gayatri Khanna lights up the Evening Event.

      Mumbai: The national finals of ninth edition of MercedesTrophy in India concluded at the Sahara Aamby Valley in Lonavala. The event marked a tee-off by Dr. Wilfried Aulbur, CEO & Managing Director of Mercedes-Benz India. Present at the event was the sponsor of the tournament: Mr. Jean Phillipe Benoit, General Manager, Swiss International Air Lines Ltd.

      At a scintillating event in the Corinthian Club, the winners for the MercedesTrophy carried away their winning trophies.


      The winners were:
      1. Mr. Shiv Puri (Division - A)
      2. Mr. Sadeev Sandhu (Division - B)
      3. Mr. Sanjay Setia (Division - C)

      These three lucky winners, along with their spouses, will now have a unique chance to participate at the MercedesTrophy World Final 2009 at Stuttgart, Germany, which is an annual congregation of the finest-proven players and Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts.

      The MercedesTrophy 2009 witnessed participation of 650+ golfers from across the country in four regional finals at Bangalore (January 17, Eagleton Golf club), Mumbai (January 31 & February 1 at Willingdon Sports Club), Delhi (February 14 & 15 at Jaypee Greens) and Chandigarh (February 21 at Chandigarh Golf Course).

      The winners and runners up from each of the three handicap categories were then flown into Pune for the national finals. They were honoured guests of Mercedes-Benz India and were treated to the finest hospitality befitting such champions. This included a visit to the Mercedes-Benz plant, test drives as well as stay at Aamby Valley.

      At a glittering evening event of fashion, cars and indulgence, the lucky winners carried away their prizes. The highlight of the event was unmistakably the ensemble ‘Exquisit’. Designer Gayatri Khanna’s created a collection for Mercedes-Benz that was a tribute to style, sophistication and elegance. Gayatri Khanna drew inspiration from attributes of the Mercedes-Benz brand to design a collection that is truly unique and exquisite.
