Mercedes Benz is planning to hike prices of its models from mid-February 2009. The company announced that Mercedes cars will be expensive from next month due to high fluctuations in input prices and adverse exchange rates.
“We have absorbed significant levels of cost escalation, but cannot continue to sustain such levels beyond a point. We are going to increase prices of all Mercedes Benz cars from mid-February,” said Dr Wilfried Aulbur, managing director and CEO, Mercedes Benz India in a statement released by the company.
According to the official spokesperson from Mercedes, the quantum of increase in prices and the exact date is yet to be finalized by the company. The quantum of hike will be in the same percentile for all models across its product portfolio.
