German automaker Mercedes Benz has unveiled its second AMG model C43 Coupe among the company’s C-Class Coupe line-up in India. Commenting more on the occasion, Mercedes-AMG Chairman Tobias Moers said, “The extension of the C-class family to include the C 43 4Matic Coupe is another component in our growth strategy. It starts the introduction of a whole series of new 43 models.” The C43 Coupe is just about 0.7 seconds slower than its C63 Coupe sibling. The Coupe is capable of doing a 0-100 km/h in just about 4.7 seconds and has been electronically limited to achieve a top speed of about 250 km/h.
The Mercedes-AMG C43 Coupe features a 3.0-litre twin-Turbo V6 petrol engine mated to nine-speed gearbox that generates about 362 bhp of power. The same engine also serves the C 450 AMG and the GLE 450 AMG models. The new gearbox has been tweaked to accommodate 4Matic all-wheel-drive system in rear-biased 39:61 split that offer convenient downshifts. The C43 Coupe also comes with three variable damping control modes – Sport, Comfort and Sport Plus.
On the design aspect, the AMG C43 carries new styled bumpers, alloy wheels and grill inserts. Inside, it comes with sport seats, graphics package, AMG instrument and flat-bottom multi-function steering wheel among a range of other value added features. The German automaker has upgraded the brakes with 360mm discs for the front while the rear gets 320mm discs.
