      Mercedes-Benz unveils the new SL63 AMG at F1 test session in Spain

      Mercedes-Benz, the division of Germany based auto maker Daimler AG, has unveiled its latest two seater roadster SL63 AMG at the scenic and enthralling Formula One test session at the Spain’s Barcelona Circuit. In the presence of press reporters from across the globe, the car was revealed along with the company’s new F1 car, MGP W03 and this new generation SL63 AMG will hit the international market in the month of June.

      The increased research and developments initiated by the company is aimed at reducing the weight of the car utilizing lightweight aluminum and magnesium structure. The new SL63 AMG weighs 125kg lesser than that of its outgoing model resulting in enhanced fuel efficiency, economy coupled with great performance.

      The roadster is loaded with a power packed and the most advanced M157 engine and this 5.5L V8, twin-turbocharged engine is capable of outpouring a maximum power of 529 bhp.

      It has features such as AMG-specific LED daytime running lights, 'V8 BITURBO' signage along the sides, wider sills, an unique double-louvre grille along with deeper front bumper with greater cooling ducts and a modified rear bumper comprising of an integral diffuser.

      AMG’s name will for the first time be associated with Mercedes-Benz in a F1 season and the SL63 AMG, with its aggressive looks and powerful performance has bagged this opportunity for AMG to feature in the 2012 Formula 1 season.

      The official unveiling of the Mercedes SL63 AMG is scheduled at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show, where the auto giant will reveal the car’s performance and specification details.
