      Mercedes Benz to Introduce New CNG Sedans

      Mercedes Benz shall soon introduce its CNG variant cars in India that shall have CNG compliant engine that shall be more fuel efficient that India’s erstwhile cheapest car – Maruti 800. It shall be able to easily give a run of 20 kms per kg of CNG against its petrol version that currently gives only 12 km per litre.

      The best advantage of the CNG is of course the fact that CNG is available at Rs 19 per litre, whereas petrol comes at about Rs. 45 per litre!

      Mercedes India has made CNG versions as is main aim as rise in fuel prices have taken the world by storm. It has already imported few CNG compliant models in Delhi and Mumbai. It shall soon brings is globally successful CNG sedans for its Indian customers as well.

      “We have some cars running on CNG in India. It’s a successful technology and has been developed over the years. We are also trying the bio-diesel option on the E Class saloon here. If these extensive trials are successful, we shall introduce these cars in India too,” said a Daimler India senior executive.
