Mercedes-Benz, the domestic subsidiary of German auto maker, seems in full swing to introduce its much awaited 2014 S Class saloon on the global platform. Reportedly, the model will mark its presence on May 15, 2013 at Hamburg amid great buzz. In order to differentiate the upcoming vehicle with the current generation S Class, the 2014 model is expected to feature a long wheelbase. However, it must be noted that the next generation model will have identical dimensions with the existing S Class and the same level of comforts.
The upcoming model from ‘three pointed star’ is expected to come equipped with an option of either a twin turbo V8 or twin turbo V12 engine, similar to the one packed within the current model. The maximum power output of both the engine options is anticipated to range between 429 bhp to more than 550 bhp. Interestingly, the launch of diesel and hybrid versions of S Class is also anticipated to be soon launched by Mercedes-Benz. On the introduction of a hybrid technology, industry experts are of view that the hybrid arrangement will be similar to what was packed within Vision S500 Plug-in Hybrid Concept.
Along with a powerful engine, the 2014 S Class is expected to come equipped with a number of safety features, which will ensure complete safety of its passengers. In its new model, the German auto maker has mainly concentrated on the security of its passengers. Features like body mounted cameras scanning roads ahead, night view assist PLUS system and magic body control are some of the key highlights of the same. Interestingly, Air Balance Package will be also packed within the upcoming S Class sedan, which is mainly a cabin air purifications system to filter and ionise the air at interiors.
It must be noted that the auto maker has not yet declared the exact pricing of it’s yet to be launched sedan. Post it global premier at Hamburg, the model is then expected to sparkle at the Indian shores somewhere by the end of next fiscal.
