Expected to debut in 2018, this new compact saloon has been detailed by the Aesthetics A sculpture theme to use minimal creases. The pictures also confirm the single character line that stretches across the entire side profile of the saloon. Other unique points of the design include the angled boot lid and the huge grille which shows a fair resemblance to the AMG GT line-up.

Furthermore, Mercedes-Benz plans to underpin their entire new compact car range by the second generation Modular Front Architecture (MFA). It is claimed that the primary benefit of switching to the tweaked MFA platform is the considerable weight loss which has been achieved. Sources report that the A-Class hatchback, that’s set to be unveiled in 2018, will be the first model in the brand’s line-up to get the reworked platform.

We will share more news about Mercedes-Benz’ plans to update their range in the coming months, so stay tuned to CarTrade.
